How to Remove The Door Panel From Toyota Prius

Removing the door panel out of your Toyota Prius is not so difficult, but be mindful that smaller plastic pieces don’t bust and hinder replacement of the door panel.

Aftermarket options in the car industry today enable you to customize your vehicle in a variety of ways. Installing extra speakers and a few subwoofers in your automobile is a job on an experienced electrician, but it’s not too difficult to give your current Toyota Prius a complete surround-sound system.

Adding extra speakers requires space, and one popular location is within the plastic door panels on the rear side opportunities.

Tools You'll need

Get rid of the window crank, if the Prius door solar panel contains one. Insert your flathead screwdriver in the space between this window crank along with the door panel. Depress the screwdriver to be able to view the spg clip holding this window crank towards door panel.

Rotate the crank until you will observe the clip’s prongs. Insert the tip of your screwdriver in the space below this spring clip and also pry the window crank gently onward until it pops loose.

Get rid of the screws securing this arm rest solar panel. Use your flathead screwdriver to get rid of the screw in the bottom of this grip well. Gently pry off the black plastic piece above the inside door handle. Get rid of the screw found down below that piece.

Gently pry out the plastic piece resting over the armrest. Detachment the automatic window switch found below, if your Prius has power windows.

Place your dominant hand in the bottom-outside corner of the door. Press in together with your fingertips and take the plastic panel loose on the press-fit retaining videos.

Continue to work around the panel’s cut. Be careful while removing the panel on the plastic trim at the panel’s top; these press-fit retaining clips are inclined to break under intensive pressure.

Lift the door panel clear of the frame after the many retaining clips happen to be freed.

Tips & Safety measures

Keep your Prius’s door open during treatment. This makes it better to face the door panel directly while seated.
