How to do a Toyota Prius Antenna Replacement

The air antenna on the Toyota Prius is mounted on top at the buttocks of the automobile. The antenna wire runs through the antenna through the actual headliner, down the windshield pillar for the passenger's side and also to the radio system.

It is possible to remove and replace the antenna themselves without messing with too much of the wire. You can do this if you need to replace a ruined antenna or upgrade with a stronger one.

Tools You will need

Unscrew the actual antenna mast, and eliminate it from the bottom.

Grasp and pry journey trim panel in the car bordering the headliner for the rear passenger's part. You might need the aid of a trim keep. This will reveal the headliner fasteners as of this end.

Get rid of the fasteners for the headliner utilizing a screwdriver, and look with the headliner to lower low enough that you access the antenna base's fastener.

Unscrew and eliminate the nut for the actual antenna base which has a wrench. Disconnect the antenna from other wire, and eliminate the base from the actual roof.

Install the fresh antenna base to the mounting hole inside the roo
f -- you want another person to make this happen from outside the automobile -- and secure it with its nut. Connect the mast towards vehicle's antenna wire.

Fasten the headliner into place, and re-install the trim across the upper edge.

Thread and prop the mast with the new antenna onto the bottom.
